This certification is awarded to a board member who has demonstrated a high level of boardsmanship skills and knowledge and exhibited proactive leadership at the local and state / national levels and in Florida School Boards Association. A board member who seeks this distinction must submit a portfolio to document: 1) completion of the Certified Board Member and Master Board Programs; 2) educational presentations and facilitation of group activities; and, 3) performance in local and state / national leadership roles. The next recognition ceremony for the ABC distinction is scheduled during the FSBA Annual Spring Conference (June 11-13, 2008). The entire portfolio must be physically in the FSBA Office by May 5, 2008, to allow sufficient time for convening of the Advanced Boardsmanship Certification Portfolio Review Committee to make a determination prior to the FSBA Annual Spring Conference.
