The Legislative Committee coordinates a systematic process to develop equitable and responsive legislative platforms for FSBA and pursues legislative changes consistent with the adopted FSBA legislative platforms. In order to ensure equal representation on the Legislative Committee, the FSBA Bylaws provide that each district school board must designate annually at the organization meeting held pursuant to Section 1001.371, Florida Statutes, a member and an alternate to serve on the Legislative Committee as the FSBA Legislative Liaison. The Legislative Committee includes two subcommittees: the Advocacy Subcommittee and the Federal Relations Network (FRN) Subcommittee. All school board members are eligible to serve on either or both of these subcommittees.
